TODAY’S HEADLINE: Rebellion & Conspiracy

2 Samuel 15:12 (KJV) “And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom”.

Rebellion is a violent resistance to or vehement defiance of constituted authority, control and leadership. However, conspiracy means treacherous understanding and agreement, especially in a secret arms pact; to do evil, hijack power, and bootleg illegal stuffs for selfish interest. Rebels and conspirators are usually from among very close people like friends, co-workers, partners, spouses, acquaintances or relatives, who turn around to hurt their folks. All the conspirators I ever knew or heard about ended likewise miserable. I mean, they are mostly unfortunate to leave the scene tragically. Rebellious murmuring in the Kingdom is considered a mutiny. For examples, blokes like Absalom, Delilla, Judas Ischariot, Gehazi, Ahithophe, Achan, Korah, Datan and Abiram, etc, were independable and unreliable fellas who were fatally swept away in their wicked acts. Any unrepentant one who pulls others down in order to rise, will always experience stumbles and downfalls on life journey. Rebellion is an act of disobedience, insubordination, supplanting, betrayal, coup, dishonesty, misrepresentation, etc. Plotting against an innocent is an act of treachery done outside love. Therefore, bitterness, ambition, outrage, desperation, envy, get-rich-quick syndrome, and lack of contentment and fear of the Lord, are some generators of these disgusting outlaws. See the divine pronouncement against the rebellious King Saul in (1 Samuel 15:23) “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king”. Obey God always my friend. I warn you, repent from rebellious conspiracy today. It is destructive. Meanwhile, the God who protected Apostle Paul from the forty vowed conspirators will help you out. Amen.
