THEME: EMMANUEL

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us”.
Many who bear the name ‘Emmanuel’ are without the understanding of its meaning and the strong implications. The aforementioned interpretation of the name is, “God with us”. The message here is that, Jesus is the Spirit of God manifested in human embodiment. Therefore, receiving Jesus means having God. So, Jesus is the essence of God in the physical, by all ramifications. This divine presence is what makes the supernatural differences you crave for a possibility. Emmanuel is otherwise the anointing of God that makes the impossible possible. It is an asurance of deliverance and victory. Listen to Apostle Paul in Rom 8:31 “….. If God be for us, who can be against us?”. David was imparted with God’s faithful presence, he started manifesting the extraordinary. Emmanuel worked out the fulfilment of Joseph dreams. King Hezekiah wouldn’t have escaped disease, death and Sennacherib if not for divine companionship. Bishop David Oyedepo could not be destroyed by the neighborhood conspirators, only for the reason of the Emmanuel. Prophet Elisha dwelt in the consciousness of the Emmanuel; hear his confidence in 2 Kings 6:16 “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them”. Acknowledging the Lord Jesus as Emmanuel is an effective way of quelling fears by inviting heavenly intervention. Be warned; rejecting Jesus is equal to rejecting God! I pray: May God always be for you. Your tent will not be pitched against God’s. Divine presence shall establish your solution. Emmanuel will invoke your justification and glorification. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: GATHERING THE MULTITUDES

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Proverbs 14:28 “In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince”.
Unity is faith indeed. Population is often more of an asset than liability if adequately handled. Achievement is cheaper attained with big number of committed folks. Any place where patronage is scanty, realizations will be meager. The greater the crowd rallied supports, the better the strength and confidence. The bigger the congregation if a people of common interest and goal, the more the chances of manifesting in mega success. Enemies harassment and molestation are always discouraged and intimidated if large followers and disciplines are established. The size of customers brings about the corresponding size of corporate rewards. The measure of the congregation marks the measure of the voice and honor enjoyed by her leader. The strength, impact and influence of the gathered multitude is in variance multiplication. That is why a lone ranger may not go far. Like in politicking, so it is in all ramifications, power is weighed according to the number of available patronage supports. As well, the number of the field men determines the authority of a commander. Crowd gathering is a vivid showcase of acceptance, popularity and approval. Jesus enjoyed this. See Matt 20:29 “And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him”. Kindly savour these five great qualities a crowd pulling leader: 1. Genuine sacrificial love for the subjects 2. Being a solution bearer, a defense, imparting benefits to followers 3. Wisdom application, and understanding of human relation 4. Being a bold, productive, comported, respected, charismatic, knowledgeable, reliable, prosperous, mentoring, successful leader to be proud of 5. Being a prayerful master, who like a good shepherd; direct, protect, plan, provide, care, nurture, oversee and boost the confidence of the fold with every sense of responsibility. Congregation foster mutual blessings. This is my heartfelt fervent prayer for a believer in Gen 28:3 “And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people”. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: ESCAPING EPIDEMICS

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Psalm 91:3 “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence”.
Epidemic is a widespread outbreak of an infectious disease; many people are infected at the same time. Disease is of course a snare and trap of Satan. Unfortunately, lots of people are in this bondage, battling for life and comfort. Noisome pestilences like HIV/AIDS, Zika, SARS, Cancer, Ebola, Meningitis, Organ Failures, Infertility, Malaria, Typhoid, Hypertension, etc, are rampant and untamed. Evil spirits are the power behind these gruesome sicknesses. Demons are only executing the satanic agenda of killing, stealing and destroying. Please be persuaded that noisome ailments, that had defied all scientific solutions and medical arts are still within the capture of the divine Gilead Balm (Matt 19:26). The medics are presently overwhelmed and already drifting towards wit end. Fear of toxins and pollution is gripping humans everywhere. Perils to health and life are freely prowling in places. Being too careful has earned many the ever increasing phobia. Diseases are dreaded by man because they are the messengers of death. The question is: Are believers also helplessly hopeless? Invariably, the devil is the cause of all infirmities. Whereas, Jehovah Rapha is the healer. Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil. Listen to Deut 7:15 “And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest,….”. God is still in the biz of miracle healing. Deliverance ministry is necessary for holiness to thrive. Hear Jer 8:22 “Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?” Review these enhancers of health: 1. The Word 2. Faith 3. Deliverance 4. Healing Gift 5. Revelations 6. Anointing 7. Prayers 8. Medical attention 9. Good thoughts 10. Cheerfulness 11. Serving God 12. Healthy confessions. I admonish you keep on fighting a good fight of faith. You are born again to win all the time. Hear Psalm 107:20 “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions”. May you henceforth not remain in health challenges. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

DATE: Sunday, 27th November, 2016:        THEME: OFFERING CONGRATULATIONS

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Psalm 126:2 “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them”.
Congratulations signifies praise, kudos and extolment. It is an expression of approval and commendation. A man who is congratulated is an enviable man who is far above the pitiable low ebbs. Congratulations is a salutation of felicitation for someone who is celebrated for an outstanding feat attainment. Therefore, congratulations is reserved for the achievers; the fortunate; the successful; the accomplishers; the victors; the privileged; the favoured; the shortlisted; the chosen; those who overcome; those who breakthrough and attain; those who celebrate great occasions and joyful conferments; etc. Congratulations is a word expressing and respecting some satisfactory conditions. It connotes  a ‘well-done’, an encouragement, and profound appreciation of the miraculous feats. It is often rendered by the well wishers. Listen to Abraham’s wife in Gen 21:6 “And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me”.  Meanwhile, it is a very difficult venture for the embittered, jealous, envious, egocentric, mediocrity, proud, mocker, self-centered, and resentful people to offer heartfelt congratulations. I admonish you congratulate the deserving people; and accept congratulations from those who value your enterprise. I pray: You shall be congratulated very soon. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: SHOWING COMPASSION

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: 1 John 3:17 “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”.
Compassion means displaying love, showing pity, and having mercy. Compassion as well connotes exhibiting the humane quality of understanding the suffering of others, and wanting to do something about it. Compassion will always generate favour and grace. Actions contrary to the showcase of compassion are described as callous, hardhearted, nasty, insensitivity, and treacherous. However, mercy begets mercy. Love attracts love. Compassion calls unto compassion. A compassionate man is a very generous man who will always go out of his way to help and assist others get out of difficult situations. Compassion is a producer of peace, longsuffering and harmony. It subdues the emotional reactions of anger, revenge, disappointment, bitterness, malice and resentment. Our God is invariably very compassionate. Hear about Him in Psalm 86:15 “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth”. Jesus too is our compassionate Master indeed. Listen to Matt 9:36 “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, …..”. Who then will you resemble if you are adamantly oppose to all issues bothering on merciful disposition? I admonish you start being the extended, compassionate hand of our graceful Almighty. Do you care to work God’s works effectually with indelible marks? You need to abide by love, kindness, goodness and mercy. Look at Jude 1:22 “And of some have compassion, making a difference”. May you be empowered to emit and impart compassion always. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: BENEFITS OF STUDIES

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.
I appreciate a wise man who said “A literate man who will not read is not better than an illiterate man who cannot read”. Studying is a research venture that is mainly aided by the grace of literacy. This is the bedrock of all intellectual learning process. Since wisdom comes through the applications of accrued knowledge; therefore the deficiency of wisdom is directly traceable to shallow data upload. No novice is approved, considered wise, quotable, acknowledged, or applauded. Without stress, an ignited candle stick can lend light to millions of other candle sticks sans suffering any diminishing returns. Only an informed man can share  enlightenment. Only a learned leader has the capacity of raising a flock of eagles. A workman who resent education is vulnerable to confusion, fumbling, frustration, inferiority complex, backwardness, and shame. Apostle Paul was greatly benefitted by spiritual endowments; and more so by his acquisition of vast information. Becoming an enigmatic authority and a notable elite in your discipline bothers heavily on the measure of your inclination to adequate right studies. Harry Ulman correctly said: “A reader today is a leader tomorrow”. Those who take learning for granted may eventually be grounded. Those who lean too much on chance may not have the chance. Therefore, deliberate pursuits, in the light of the Word of God as a standard for living, is a graceful and gainful enterprise. After all, Prophet Daniel understood by books (Dan 9:2). God, by Himself, wrote the Ten Commandments. Jesus fluently read in the synagogue. You too, endeavour to read and write. Hear God admonishing you in Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. Studies are necessary to great attainment in any endeavour. May you be enlightened and empowered by knowledge. May you be guided by it. Learning will not weary you. Arise, shine, your light is here. Blessings in the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: GREAT VALUES OF FRIENDS

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Proverbs 18:24 “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother”.
Friendship is the direct opposite of enmity; just like likeness is the opposite of hatred. A friend is therefore an acquaintance, associate and a mutual collaborator. He is a person you know well and regard with affection and trust. Friendship is the functional active agent of love. Where relationship is thriving and blissful, friendship is fully involved. People don’t fall in love who had not first fallen into affectionate and enduring friendship. Genuine friends are like David and Jonathan; they help each other. A good friend will always influence you positively, and lead you to be the best of your innate purpose. He will bypass your weaknesses, and uphold your great values and strong qualities. Friends are soulmates in the journey of life. Everyone needs some elements of solidarity, cooperation, boosting, encouragement, assurance, assistance, advice, supports, caring, love, pleasantries, greetings, communication, defense, lifting, rapports, cooperation, etc; those are what friendship stands for. A friend is a reliable confidant. He is delighted by your abilities; appreciate your efforts; rejoice in your achievements; and celebrate with you in your success. True friends don’t jealous, neither do they work, walk or talk against each other in bitterness. Being a friend of God like Abraham amounts to becoming an enemy of the worldly, carnal passions. Listen to how you may befriend God in John 15:14 “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you”. In all relationship like marriage, neighborhood, corporate, church, family,  business partnership, government, national & international relations, etc; friendship is a major factor that builds and sustains. Since no man is an island; I admonish you prayerfully choose your friends responsibly. Be guided by the Holy Spirit and valued interests. Advise yourself in the following Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful”. May you not pitch your tent with the antichrists and the enemies of God. May you not yoke up with unfriendly friends. Note that friendship is by choice, and not by force. Therefore may you be able to discern and choose your friends correctly. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
