THEME: VIRTUE, MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.”
Virtue is a moral and ethical standard manifesting in godliness. As well, virtue is any admirable quality or attribute works of great merit. It means the quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong. Also, virtue, according to Christian ethics, is one of the three virtues (faith and hope and charity) created by God to round out the natural virtues. Unfortunately many in the world today have rated riches  above virtues. To them, wealth is better than good names and virtuous characters. Men are no more desperate to abide by the Godly rules and regulations; everyone is going after the fraudulent and treacherous short cut to riches. They would rather stockpile gold and silver than keep their spiritual relationship with the Almighty God. Majority of people now engage in rats race; introducing gimmicks, guiles, and schemes to outwit and take the advantage of the weakness of other fellas. Listen to this scriptural, correct evaluation in Prov 8:10 “Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold”. Even many believers do not realize the truth that God does not qualify or commend man by the yardstick of enormous possessions. God doesn’t judge man by action, rather He assess man by intention. Why? Because it is the virtue you embrace that will determine the decision you uphold. I admonish you arise and imbibe great virtue over craving endlessly for uncertain lucre. Without sounding hypocritical, money is very good indeed for the acquisition of wants; but virtue is more potent, for it produces the enviable all round completeness. Hear this in Prov 16:16 “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!”. I pray: May you henceforth be able to operate with Godly virtue. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: DANGERS OF MURMURING

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Philippians 2:14 “Do all things without murmurings and disputing”.
Murmuring occurs when one grumbles and mutters a complaint uttered in a low and indistinct tone. Murmuring may otherwise, or further, be described as a low continuous indistinct sound; often accompanied by movement of the lips without the production of articulate speech. Those were a dictionary explanations. However, I described a Murmurer as a disgruntled, unsatisfied, agitating, retorting, unappreciative, restless, unsettled, impatient, etc, man. Murmuring is a big factor that works against the attitudes of  faith, praise, joy, restiveness, gratefulness, etc. Little understanding of the powerful workings of the grace of the Lord is one of the major reasons that cause people to grumble. Insurgency, uprising, instigation, rebellion, etc, are the advanced levels of an unchecked murmuring. This deprives people the rewards of fervent prayers and hard work. Complaints are products of not valuing the favourable endowments of great divine virtues. This may bring forth nothing other than the wrath of God. Listen to Jude 1:16 “These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage”. Those who murmured against Moses were either consumed by the ground; bitten by fiery snakes, devoured by fire; perished swords, or destroyed one way or the other in the wilderness. For example, the Pharisees, Scribes and Sadducees who murmured at Jesus gained practically nothing doing this. Job, who delved into self-pity and murmuring, continued in affliction until he repented. Hear my scriptural admonition in Phil 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”.  May your reliance on God’s faithfulness overcome every reason you may have to murmur. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: DAMNATION OF CONSPIRATORS

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Acts 23:12 “And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul”.
Conspiracy is a confederacy. It means a secret agreement between two or more people to perform an unlawful act. Conspirators are those banded by some treachery pact to commit illegality and armful activities. It is definitely not of God, for a man to dodge somewhere lying in wait to hurt another man. Conspirators are partners in crime and wickedness. Theirs, is a nasty agreement towards perpetrating the unlawful and evils. View these few Bible examples of some conspirators: Samballat, Tobias and Geshem conspired against Nehemiah. Joseph’s siblings conspired against him. Dathan, Korah and Abiram conspired against Moses. Harman moved to destroy Mordecai. About forty-man-gang of conspirators vowed their common desire to kill Apostle Paul. Daniel encountered conspirators too. Judas Iscariot conspired with the adversaries, he betrayed Master Jesus. Satan led a rebellious war in heaven, he conspired with other fallen angels to overthrow the Almighty God. etc. All these adversaries failed in their conspiracies. They as well became victims of their own devised treacherous schemes. Conspirators are rebellious folks who are destined to dwell on very dry, patch lands. Hear Ezekiel 12:2 “Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house”. I pray for a believer: You shall not be counted among the rebellious and conspirators. For your sake, the Holy Spirit shall raise a standard against the mob of  conspirators working against you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: DIVINE REFUGE & FORTRESS

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Psalm 91:2 “I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust”.
It is essential for any believer who seeks wellness and the fulfillment of days to seek first a place of divine refuge, and therefore safety. Many places in the world are well secured by operatives, but are not necessarily safe. Most safety valves the security agents are mounting are either corrupted or too complicated and cumbersome. Securing the world is already counterproductive. Some indomitable world powers are presently jittering under enormous security concerns. Tourism and business trips are dented. Neighborhood and public restiveness is jeopardized. The only sure place of real refuge is the bunker of the blood of Jesus. The sure camp of fortress is the cantonment of the name of Jesus. Satanic wicked devices of diverse natures, designed for security breaches around the world are beyond what human police could possibly handle. The plains of physical, spiritual and intellectual are grossly and helplessly endangered. No place, no land, no realm, is absolutely safe any more. Hence the need to subscribe to the sure and guaranteed protection of the Almighty Jehovah, who alone can effectively shield His own. See Psalm 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust”. There are terrors and infirmities at night. There are arrows and destruction flying around during the day. The followings are ways of escape: 1. Call the name of Jesus 2. Invoke the blood of Jesus 3. Abide by God 4. Be pleasing to God 5. Embrace righteousness 6. Seek angelic covering 7. Be Spirit led 8. Commit the grace 9. Discerning and revelation. I pray for a believer from Psalm 121:7-8 “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.  The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore”. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: IDENTIFIED BY FRUIT

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Matthew 7:16 “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”
It is obvious that trees kind is better identified by the fruits produced. Ambiguity is estranged where tendencies are vivid. Likewise among men, a man is either popular or notorious. His category is classified according to his emitted characteristics. My Yoruba tribe in Nigeria commonly say, character is like the smoke, it cannot be concealed. No matter how a man can pretend, he will eventually behave his mentality. Therefore, an effectual and enduring change is the one from the heart conditioning. So, when a man’s heart is under the seize of Satan’s manipulation, his characters inevitably suffer decadence. Expecting a good fruit from a nasty tree is an effort leaning towards disappointment. A man will invariably, subconsciously act who he really is. Hear this in Matt 7:17 “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit”. A tree is called by the name of it’s fruit. Sincerely, the conscience and the involuntary ventures speak volumes about who a man actually is. Shakespeare said a man may truly be identified by: 1. What he says 2. What people say about him 3. And what he does. Now, permit me to ask this questions: Are you really good or you are a guileman? Are you honest enough to acknowledge your flaws? Remember, no one can mock God. Your fruits are your intentions, and therefore your personality. Bearing fruits of abomination and iniquity is dangerous. Listen to Matt 7:19 “Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire”. I pray for the divine transformation that will terminate all the fruits of the flesh. May you henceforth bear the fruits of the Spirit. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.
Meditation is a continuous and focused strong contemplation, stipulation, consideration, ruminating, pondering, excogitate, etc, on a matter of deep and keen interest and concern. Medication is a thinking process patterned towards gaining the necessary insight for some solution or remedy. To meditate therefore means to dig deep on some spiritual situations, until breakthrough emerges, through mysterious revelations. Those who understand the grace of the mind and spirit powers will sometimes seclude themselves for meditation exercise. You have to make your brain sweat, if it must serve you better. More so in this context, meditating in the word of God means surrendering to the divine will of God. It is worthy of understanding that God’s intentions for us are great and superb. Hear 1 Tim 4:15 “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all”. The followings are some of the numerous benefits of the attitude of meditation: 1. Revelation & Discovery 2. Solutions & Breakthroughs 3. Quickened mind 4. Good Success 5. Broadened Horizon 6. Wisdom 7. Serenity & Confidence 8. Direction & Decision 9. Appreciation & Praiseful 10. Meaningful Contribution 11. Sense of Judgement 12. Spiritual Development. The King David, King Solomon, Prophet Daniel, Joseph, even our Lord Jesus too were men of meditation. No wonder, they became blessings to their world. I admonish you often meditate in peace. I implore you to vehemently declare Psalm 119:15 “I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways”. May you henceforth be able to think straight, be led right, and act wisely. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: SATANIC ENDEAVORS

AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Matthew 4:10 “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve”.
Satan was Lucifer, who used to be an archangel, in the order of the high hierarchy of the heavenly hosts. Satan was the Morning Star until he fell from the grace as a result of arrogance and pride. He staged a coup against the Almighty God. In this unprecedented revolt, Satan mustered up one third of heavenly forces to overthrow the sovereign rule of Jehovah. However, the Godly archangel Michael led the angels of the light to win the war, therefore, quashed the insurgents. As a result, Satan and the rebellious angels were extradited to the planet earth. Thus peace and orderliness was restored in heaven, and troubles and division began on earth. Hear this in Rev 12:12 “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time”. Satan and his demons are the reasons for the killings, stealings and destructions that is rampant everywhere on the earth. Diabolical wickedness like diseases, wars, accidents, beguiling, disagreements, chaos, promiscuity, idolatry, atheism, corruption, murder, etc, are perpetrated by Satan, his principalities, familiar spirits, and human agents. They are the authors and finishers of all sinfulness and treacherous activities. The devil is not invincible, neither is he indomitable anyway, he is prone to perpetual defeats if we involve God in our battles against his cursed kingdom. See Rev 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”. You are born again to overcome. So, wage spiritual war against the devil, and he shall flee. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Eph 6:11). You are declared an absolute winner. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
