THEME: ANGELIC VISITATIONS
AUTHOR: rev’d Israel A. Adegbite

TEXT:  “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth” Luke 1:26 KJV

We cannot be able to appreciate and thank God enough for His grace of divine protection and preservation. We are not consumed despite the rampant perils hovering around the world. This is not just luck, but it is God’s deliberate graceful covering. All glory to God for this sixth month of 2016. Now, to establish this month of angelic intervention, the Holy Spirit is leading us to understand the benefits of the angelic activities. First, hear scripture’s description of angel in Heb 1:7  “And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire”. Therefore angels are very swift spirit, firebrand messengers of God who excel in power. Being spirit beings normally makes them invisible; but the at times choose to take on physical embodiment. They may influence and  operate in human dreamland too. It is clearly an established observation that angelic visitation or intervention heralds some awesome miracles, or execute some fearful judgments. However, Michael and Gabriel are the only angels named in the Bible among the unidentified innumerable others. For example, Gabriel appeared to Daniel, Mary and Zachariah to announce good news. Michael too intervened for Daniel. Angels were the pillars of cloud and fire God used to lead the Israelites through the wilderness to the promised land. Apostle Peter was miraculously rescued from the dungeon by an angel. Angel fed Elijah. Angel announced the risen and ascended Jesus. Also, an angel gave the book of Revelation to John The Beloved at Patmos Island. An angel comforted Jesus at a depressive difficult time. Otherwise, angel can also be very dangerous and disastrous too. For example, an angel checkmated Balam to restraint him from cursing Israelites. An angel brought stiff judgment to David after his disobedient census. An angel killed 185,000 soldiers in Sennacherib’s camp. An angel killed Herod who was usurping the glory that belongs only to God. An angel with a fiery sword of fire disallowed Adam from regaining access into Eden. An angel destroyed all the first born of humans and animals in Egypt, which eventually led to the release and Exodus of the Hebrews. So, angels are God’s high power delegates, commissioned to enforce the agenda, order and verdict of the heavenly council. Angels should not be worshiped or prayed to, they are essentially  designed to incessantly praise and serve the heavenly Father. These spirit beings have no gender, and they vary in function, hierarchy, department, category, power, authority, purpose and assignment. Angels will harvest the earth at the coming of the Lord Jesus. This is my admonition for you in Heb 13:2. “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares”. Like the Sodomites who ignorantly harassed angels in Lot’s lodge. In this month of June, I pray for a believer, angelic visitation will give you the mother of all breakthroughs. You are delivered by God through awesome angelic intervention. In the name of Jesus. Happy New Month!

THEME: DIABOLICAL POWERS
AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite

TEXT: “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God”.
Leviticus 19:31 KJV

A diabolical power is a satanic manipulation and treachery manifestation. This means the demonic execution of Satan’s agenda and his brutal ordinance. This world of darkness is brokered and administered by the Occultists, Witches, Wizards, Diviners, Juju priests, Enchanters, Magicians, Idol Worshippers, Demoniacs, Medium Consultants, Cultists, Sorcerers, Soothsayers, Astrologers, etc. While some people are sworn followers of these orders of darkness in the open, a vast number of people are undercover followers, agents and partakers. These secret satanic cohorts are just like king Saul, who in camouflage and double standard patronize in the secret what they condemn in the open. They are also satanic instruments, and therefore perpetrators of all kinds of wicked acts. These army of the realm of hell are alongside with the fallen angels, towing the path of the devil into the undeniable perdition. Among these are some false ministers of the gospel who pretend they are genuine called clergymen. Whereas, they are like Simon in the Acts 8:9 “But there was a certain man, called Simon, which before time in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one”. However this does not connote that God has stopped doing His miracles through His spiritually endowed ministers. I admonish somebody today to discern associates, ministers and even church very carefully. Hear this in 2 Cor 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light”.
Let a believer join me to say a fervent ‘Amen’ to these intentions of the Most High God in Micah 5:12. “And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers”. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: WOES OF DRUNKENNESS
AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite

TEXT: Proverbs 20:1 “Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise”.

Strong drink is spirit; God too is Spirit. However, one spirit brings brawl, while one Spirit heralds peace. One spirit makes those who are filled with it to become irresponsible, and subject them to mockery, while the other Spirit edifies, leads right, and empowers. Now this question is for you my friend: Which one of these spirits do you choose to be filled with? The responsible choice is your. I am here to advise you to choose the Holy Spirit infilling, jettisoning alcohol spirit.  In the scriptures drinking may not be a general prohibition parse, but the state of drunkenness is a transgression against God’s order. Gal 5:21 indicates that drunkards may end up in hell. There are some obvious examples in the Bible of the unpleasant results of the excessive and abusive use of wine. Noah shamefully stripped himself naked when drunk. See this in Genesis 9:21 “Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent”. This led to the event that caused him to curse the destiny of one of his own sons. Another example of those who misbehaved as a result of drunkenness was Lot. He was lured into committing incest with his own two daughters because of heavy intoxication. Listen to this in Gen 19:31-33  “Now the firstborn said to the younger, “…..Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.” So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose”. You can imagine Lot raising a family by his own daughters. Even now in our own contemporary period, only God knows how many folks have done grievous indelible wrongs under alcoholic influence. Anyway, this is my admonition for you in Ephesians 5:18  ” do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit”. I pray these for a believer today: Jesus frees you from the bondage to the demon of alcohol. The Holy Ghost procures your liberty from the destiny destroying abuse of liquor. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: TRIBULATION
AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye  might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”.
John 16:33 KJV

Tribulation is one of the long predicted end time unavoidable saga. It simply means unjustifiable persecution. It may also mean a biased, misguided, and bigotry induced violence and violation actions. These present prevalent diverse orders of political, religious, racial, gender, career, ethnic, judicial, national, etc, injustice are very rampant and defiantly becoming common in all the lands. It is not a new phenomenon anyway, but the frequency is rising as we approach the latter days of the end time. Hear Apostle Paul’s more elaborate descriptions of this situation in 2 Tim 3:1-5. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away”.
‘Why all these?’ you may ask. The answer is not far fetched. Jesus is the reason why the Antichrist and his cohorts hate believers. This is confirmed in John 7:7. “The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil”.
Endurance laced with some little more perseverance, standing in the faith, is the key to triumph and scale through these persecution. The travails will soon be over, for our Lord Jesus will soon reappear on a rescue mission. Listen to this in Rev 21:4, and be encouraged by it: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”. The coming new God order is about to commence. For you to be ready for it, being Born Again and staying dedicated in the faith are no options. Accepting the propitiation works at the Calvary is essential to partaking. This is your word – “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. God cannot lie. His promise cannot fail. I pray you will be able to remain in the Savior Jesus to the very end. Amen.

THEME: COMPLACENCY BORNE IDLENESS
AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite
TEXT: Amos 6:1 “Woe to you who are at ease in Zion, And trust in Mount Samaria, Notable persons in the chief nation, To whom the house of Israel comes!”
I do agree with dictionary that defines complacency as a feeling of smug or uncritical satisfaction with oneself or one’s achievements. That is having or showing an excessive pride in oneself or one’s achievements. This does not suggest we should stop appraising, appreciating, or monitoring the effectiveness of our individual and corporate activities. I am not suggesting going into relentless rat race, Neither am I advocating or proffering restless agitation or struggles without any intermittent. Rather, I am here advising we should tenaciously strive to fulfill complete life purpose. Continuity and tenacity make all-round winners. Fractional attainment of life’s innate ability is not a complete success anyway. Enduring to the end is the feeder of feats performance that deserves ovation. Moves and cravings should continue as long as the grace of living. Slowing down, Idleness and hibernation at the attainment of an accomplishment is very dangerous and harmful indeed. For example, King David was at home when he should be on the battlefield; the complacency drew him to the multiple sins he committed with Bathsheba. Hear this further in 2 Sam 11:1 “It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle,…….But David remained at Jerusalem”. Keeping busy disallows digression and undue loss of focus. Intent watching (i.e working) and praying (i.e in faith) ward off temptations. God rested only on the 7th day, He has resumed work ever since. Listen to Jesus in John 5:17 “But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”. King Nebuchadnezzar too, in Daniel 4:31-33, was a victim of complacency that turned him to an animal. Complacency really means foolishness. Listen to Jesus’ parable on this in Luke 12:18-20 “So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’”. I fervently pray, complacency will not destroy you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: EVIL COUNSEL
AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel A. Adegbite

TEXT: Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!”  2 Samuel 15:31

Counsel in this context connotes action-plan, conspiracy, agreement, direction, instruction, step, etc. It may amount to self deceit pretending someone somewhere may not be working against one’s well being. Any man that is looking and working towards enviable, great, and glorious future will sure be a victim of jealousy, mischief, name-calling, acrimony, bitter-envy, defamation, Character assassination, misrepresentation, treachery, etc. Therefore, developing some tick skin and shock absorbency for people’s contradicting opinions, negative comments and antagonistic actions is very necessary for those craving for outstanding attainments of greatness. Enemies of progress like Samballat and Co; Korah and Co, Hamman, Joseh’s Brothers, Delila, Judas Iscariot, Ahithophel, etc, are freely prowling around the world. That is why the world is a battlefield where only the fittest survives. Listen to the counsel against Joseph in Gen 37:18-20 “Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming! Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.  We shall see what will become of his dreams!”. The target of these conspirators was the glory. The heart of man is desperately wicked towards fellow man. It is only the grace of divine intervention and discernment may help out. Great men like David, Daniel, Nehemiah, Jesus, Mordecai, and Moses encountered these order of heartless conspirators. They triumphed solely by the intervention of the acts of providence. I admonish you scripturally pray some violent prayers in order to ward them off. Hear God’s order in Isaiah 49:26. “And I will make those who oppress you consume themselves [in mutually destructive wars], thus eating their own flesh; and they will be drunk with their own blood, as with sweet wine; and all flesh will know [with a knowledge grounded in personal experience] that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob”. You are more than the conquerors. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

THEME: HONORABLE MARRIAGE
AUTHOR: Rev’d Israel Adeniyi Adegbite

TEXT: Ephesians 5:31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and  mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

Marriage is the coming together of a matured man and a woman in a mutual  lifetime conjugal, love relationship. Marriage is neither a burden nor a union of inconvenience. Rather, it is an enrollment into God’s first established institution, where no one admitted is expected to graduate. It is a miracle of making two entirely different interests blend and work together as one. Two life purposes compromising to forge ahead towards achieving one common goal. However, in order not to abuse this grace, one needs to be acquainted with some strong reasons for it: 1. Companionship 2. Procreation 3. Sexual gratification 4. Help meet 5. Generational continuity. There are several advantages and benefits loaded in marriage. The most pronounced of these benefits is the advantage of the combination of resources and efforts of two people. Hear this confirmed in  Eccl 4:9-12  “Two are  better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?”. Marriage can work only when the hubby is ready to love, and the wife is willing to submit. Some of the other rudiments of a blissful marriage are analyzed in Apostle Paul’s admonitions  in 1 Corinthians chapter 7. Hear this in Deuteronomy 32:3 “How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight….”. In other words, two heads are better than one. Playing right the game of marriage by both partners makes it an enviable blissful integration. Once marriage is consummated, it lasts till the demise of either of the two players. Listen to God in Mal 2:16 AMPLIFIED: “For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate]”. I pray the Holy Spirit to bring reconciliation into all troubled homes. May He as well guide the eligible bachelors and spinsters right in their choice of wedding partners. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
