TODAY’S HEADLINE: Multifaceted Man

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV

Man is indeed a complex being. His anatomy is multi-systems. His faculty is dynamic, split and diversified. He is essentially a spirit, having a soul, living in a body. All these components are supposed to work and function complementarily, if life must continue meaningfully. Miserable experiences set in when anyone of the three consisting principal partners displays some inadequacy, weakness or deficiency. For instance, if the body is sick or mangled, the accommodation of the soul-bearing spirit is threatened. If the illness or wound is not addressed effectively in a good time, it may break and demolish the body edifice; thus may result to the termination of the tenancy agreement and arrangement of the spirit. The permanent ejection of the spirit from the body is physical death. Body is therefore temporal in existence. It can’t survive the exit of the spirit. This may as well come at the expiry and disintegration at old age. Meanwhile, soul is the mind, faculty, irritability and consciousness. When the soul is defective, man is out of his mind. Coherency in thinking is therefore adversely affected. However, the case of the spirit is different. The spirit is endlessly eternal. It is the real man resident in the flesh. That is the infinite life of the spirit-man. This soul-carrying spirit of man eventually has two objective destinations; heaven or hell. A man who may not abuse himself must always consider the importance of his trio-components, and their harmonious coexistence. In conclusion, TB Joshua said: “Man is a spirit being living in the physical body, learning how to function in the natural”. I pray it is well with your body, spirit and soul. Amen.
